This week’s interview is with team Captain, senior defenseman Michael Authier. Authier is one of the founding members of TCU Hockey and wears #77.

Height: 6’0”
Weight: 200 lbs
Year in School: Senior
Major: Finance & Accounting

Why did you decide to go to TCU?
TCU felt like home the first time I visited the campus. I also like the smaller enrollment size. It also helped that TCU has a good business school.”

Why did you choose your major?
“I first came to TCU intending to major in entrepreneurial management. Then I took some finance and accounting classes and really liked them so I decided to change my major.”

What is your favorite sports team/player?
“Nashville Predators because I moved to Nashville in 1998, which was the Preds’ inaugural season. My favorite player is Ray Bourque.”

What is your favorite food?
“Steak and mashed potatoes.”

What is your favorite television show?
“Archer is by far the best show on TV. I could watch it anytime.”

What do you enjoy most about being on the team?
“My favorite part of playing on the team is the camaraderie that we have. It is great being able to continue my playing career with a group of guys that share the same love of hockey that I do.”

Finally, what three things would you have with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?
“1) My two golden retrievers
2) Ax
3) Motorboat”
